Question it answers: What are the REAL reasons for success?

Why you should care: According to Gladwell, most success stories don’t uncover the real reasons for success.  This book digs a lot deeper than most.

Benjamin - thanks! Not a lot of people know that he's Canadian. I think including Junior hockey as one of the main examples in his book is a pretty good tip off, though ;)
  • Benjamin
Great stuff Steve! Love the podcast. I didn't know Gladwell was Canadian!

Bill - Audible is a fantastic thing, isn't it? Keep up the reading/listening, and hope to see you back here soon!
  • Steve,

I'm new to your service and you've hooked me like a fish! Great synopsis of Gladwell's book and a fantastic taster. Now I need to extend my subscription to Audible!

    Keep up the good work,

  • Steve,
Outliers...outstanding! You nailed it for me with your final comment about corporate culture. You're right, a company can be destroyed if the culture prevents people from speaking up. You're good, Mate, very good. Hope we can stay connected.

Thanks Ken - culture is such a powerful thing, as you know well. Would love to keep in touch.
  • Bernadette
Thanks again Steve. I needed that!

Bernie - I'm not sure that you "need" anything - you do just fine on your own. Thanks again for the kind words!
  • I particularly liked Gladwell's observation on Oppenheimer vs the non-famous scientist. It made me rethink my ideas on "genius". Good summary!
  • steve
Thanks for the comment Courtney - I agree, the scientist observation really highlights some of the things we take for granted when it comes to success.

    Hey Steve,

    Love your service!

I'm intrigued by your review of this book. Different from most books you read on success.

Looks like a trip to Barnes and Noble today!

    Thanks!
    Frank
